Hill Interior was appointed Principal Contractor for Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council’s 320m2 Refurbishment of the Main Lending Library at Smethwick Birmingham. The project started late in 2011 and involved Hill interior firstly removing the existing concealed suspended ceiling system which had been condemned in places. Working at a height of 5m was not a problem for our PASMA trained employees, and once the ceiling had been removed Hill Interior were tasked with installing a new high insulation suspended ceiling complete with a  new lighting system. The complete lending Library was then to be redecorated with bright engaging colours complementing the new fixtures and furniture layouts. High quality Milliken Dash carpet tiles were used to create a hard wearing environment but still giving that comfort under foot for the Library patrons. Working closely with Library staff to keep the public updated was a big part of this contract utilising signage, SMBC websites and Facebook to achieve this. The contract was completed within the 8 week deadline meeting the public re launch date.
